In British Columbia, Pope & Talbot manages 5.4 million acres of provincial forest land. All of our activities are carried out in compliance with the provincial Forest Practices Code (FPC) and the American Forest and Paper Association's Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), some of the most stringent regulatory standards in forestry.

The FPC and SFI programs form the basis for our Environmental Management System, which encompasses a detailed assessment of ecosystems, biodiversity, fish and watershed management, wildlife habitats, old growth, visual impact and recreational needs. We take great pride in having our Canadian Woodlands Operation independently certified to comply with the SFI and the ISO 14001 global standards.
